FOKA Ltd. Company was founded in 2000. as a producer of HDPE (high density polyethylene) film extrusion. Initial production was based on garbage bags in rolls.
In year 2001, Foka expands its production to a variety of other types of bags: T-shirt bags, decorative (boutique) bags, freezer bags, and others.
In year 2002 we continued expansion of product range and started with flexo printing (up to 6 colors of printing).
In year 2003, we had a significant expansion of our production capabilities and started working on new markets.
During the period 2003-2007. We expanded capacity and increased variety of products.
Year 2008 was the year of big investments. We invested in new technologies: started production of LDPE (low density polyethylene) and implemented high quality coextruded films that fully satisfy all modern demands for packaging materials (highly transparent, highly resistible, with minimal variations in thickness, etc.). In this year when Foka started production of packaging materials for food processing industry.
In year 2009, we committed on furthermore improving printing quality. We bought a new flexo printing machine with 8 color printing capability, and ability to print material 8 +8colors (both sides). This meant a completion of investment cycle that lead to FOKA Ltd. becoming a leader in the production of PE films in the domestic market, all types of bags, with high quality printing up to the photos.
Year 2010 was the year of the conquest of new technologies. FOKA invested in barrier films technology. We became fully capable for the production of barrier films and foils for thermoforming (up to 7 layers). As a result of technological improvements, we are able to produce and offer vacuum films and foils fully customized to specific needs of each customer and products that are packed into them.
We find Research and Product development very important part in our way of doing business, so technology improvement is constantly present with implementation of new trends and achievements. One of result of continuous improvement of production and technology is the production of degradable films. A typical polyethylene film is not degradable. With certain additives, decomposition of polyethylene films can be accelerated so that it becomes biodegradable. Exposure of polyethylene to sunlight (UV-rays) is changing its structure and thus it is degraded. PE bag can be degraded in the period 2-4 years. Decomposition products are not toxic.
Laminating films are three-layer coextruded PE films (PE film COEX) designed to be adhered to other types of films and foils, to form composite packaging film (duplex, triplex ,...) that are used as flexible packaging.
On demand, we are able to produce:
- HOT TACK films (for high speed packaging machine),
- - EASY OPEN films (for flexible packaging that is easy to open),
- STRONG SEAL movies (highly sealable films).

We are absolutely capable of controlling all our production processes. We meet all requirements (legal, sanitary and other) for our products to be able to come in contact with food and to be used as food packaging. On demand, and having considered features and properties of product that is intended to be packed, we are able to offer a wide range of film products fully customized to fit the requirements of machines on which the product is packed.
Within this group there is a subgroup of high-barrier coextruded films for vacuum packaging:
- The composition of these materials provides comprehensive barrier properties, protection of product from water vapor, as well as for gases, which allows extended shelf life of products.
- A combination of PE, EVOH and PA obtained by high-barrier materials in addition to exceptional barrier properties towards gases, has a crucial role in preserving the aroma and taste of products, great protection of product in all temperature regimes and long-term vacuum capabilities.

Within this group there are high-barrier and barrier coextruded materials for vacuum packaging:
- Barrier and high-barrier materials are obtained by combining PE, EVOH and PA. In addition to exceptional barrier properties against gases, our packaging materials have a crucial role in preserving the aroma and taste of products, great protection of product in all temperature regimes and long-term vacuum capabilities.
- A combination of these materials provides high thermoforming possibilities, without losing any vacuuming capabilities, so the final product is exceptionally well vacuum packed. This is most commonly used for packaging of hot dogs, large and thinly sliced meat products, cheese, peanuts, ...
PE multilayer shrink film we produce meets all demands for its intended application in a form of heat-shrink films. Careful material selection and coextrusion on high tech extruders enable us to achieve high mechanical and optical properties of PE film, by reducing its thickness. This means significant savings for customers in terms of consumption and ecologically in terms of reduced disposal of waste packaging.
This type of PE film protects the product from dust and dirt, prevents damage and allows easier handling during transportation (for grouped pack of beverages - water, juices, beer ...) in plastic or glass bottles or cans. This type of shrink film is also used for individual packaging of magazines, newspapers and advertising leaflets.
synthetic paper (for raw meat and poultry)
This product is confectioned in form of sheets. It is white in color, moisture and fat resistant. It’s main purpose is for packing of raw meat, meat products, cheeses, pastries, pies etc. We produce it in few different sizes, with or without printing (customer request). This synthetic paper has a mass of 25g/m², which means that 1 kg of synthetic paper contains 3-4 times more pieces than similar papers in use.
Bags are made of HDPE (high density polyethylene) films. Despite the reduced thickness, plastic bags have excellent strength and durability. Available in packets or rolls, (customer request). Beside their primarily intended usage for packaging, T-shirt bags have an additional promotional (marketing) role in branding. Therefore, we find that this type of bag should be attractive and noticeable advertising message.
As a result of technological improvements, we are able to produce and offer this kind of bags as biodegradable.
decorative (boutique) bags
We are able to produce this type of bags in several options – from high density polyethylene films, low density or coextruded materials. Carrying handle can be slotted or welded; a bag can have a pleat. Bags are delivered in packs, according to customers’ request.
On demand, we are able to produce:
- Decorative bags with a slotted handle,
- Decorative bags, with a reinforced handle (DDKT) - glued reinforcement,
- Decorative bags with FLEXIBLE handles (flexi loop bags).
According to customers' requirements, we have developed a range of products that meet the most stringent requirements.
Part of the standard product range of FOKA Ltd. are freezer bags. Bags are made of high density polyethylene, are very thin and durable. In households are used for packaging foodstuffs intended for deep freezing, also they are suitable for packaging powdery foods, sandwiches, etc.. The bags are wound into a roll.
